Moving Forward

Our excitement has escalated this week since we escorted reporters to the island so they could share in our "island dream" and see what all the hype is all about. The news coverage from the Star News was positive in our eyes but we wish they would have focused more on our plans to create a self sustainable retreat center that will be Platinum LEED certified. The focus was geared towards the brains behind our operation who has made other news in the past yet has visions looking forward. We are confidant in reaching the correct requirements to begin building and construction. Our holistic sanctuary has an exponential amount of opportunity for an array of investors, job options, and visitors. We are interested in wellness and alternative medicine advocates to inquire about our project through this forum and from there we can answer other questions. We hope that you who are visiting our job application website really mull it over and except the challenges that this job brings. Questions are warrented and thank you to everyone who has visited and shown interest in our vision. What life it would bring to our region to have the island bear fruit, literally.

Day Two

We have had quite a response to our advertisement after the initial post yesterday, and are cataloging the "YouTube" videos submitted. There have been a fair percentage of applicants submit their applications without attached videos and we must repeat again, "the requested video submissions are a key factor to being considered for the second round interviews". We will be contacting candidates that missed this opportunity, but only once. If you are serious about applying for this position, Please Read All Information on the "Apply Now" page.
Our desire is to find an adept spokesperson for our project and rely on these video submissions for communicating the effectiveness of the applicant pool to our shareholders. We are not seeking a professionally produced video. A cell phone video will be proficient.
We wish all our applicants, "All the best" and remind all to follow the guidelines as stated, to remain in the running for "The Job of a Lifetime".
The following is an example that was sent in by an applicant. It is very short and clipped but it does give some insight into the personality of the applicant.

About The Island

On the island with the architect today plotting the final course for approx. 5 miles of walking nature trails. These trails will be a combination of elevated wood deck, over the wetlands and a sand shell mix for the remainder. we are trying to take into consideration as much of the unspoiled beauty of the area as possible. The trails are designed for use as physical therapy (jogging, walking, horseback), educational, (placard's detailing local flora and ecology will be placed throughout) and also secluded areas off the trail just to escape into the peaceful solitude.
The location for the spa and European bath house has also been carefully chosen, based on open water views and our determination to remove as few trees as possible. Overall we are very pleased with amount of progress made over the past few months but we still have a little ways to go. plans are being made for our other offerings including therapeutic pottery, horses and stables, organic farming, a 22 slip marina, a wind and solar farm for our power needs. camping areas and cabins, not to mention 120 residential units.
After all is complete we envision the island as "The North Carolina Health and Environmental Institute". Construction is expected to begin in October 2009. Currently all wetlands engineering is completed and we are in our final phase of design. We expect final approval this month.
We have attracted over 100 alternative health practitioners who are interested in participating, offering massage therapy, reflexology, reiki, yoga and the like.
